Both of my siblings had ADD, and it wasn’t straightforward for my mommy.
Back then, they did not know what it was, and my siblings were labeled as lazy, rascals. One of the 1st things the doctor did was ask my mommy if she’d like my kid brother to try ADD medication. She gave it a try, as he was beyond control and doing extremely poorly in class. She was ready to do anything to make his life a bit easier.
My brother’s history with ADD drugs is a rocky one. It was frightening, and my mommy requested that something be modified. He hardly ate, and at almost all of the time would not even talk thanks to the ADD medication. His dose of ADD drugs went up and down thru the years. His weight went up and down with the medicine, and she ended up having to drag him out of school. She made a decision that home schooling was the sole answer, as the ADD medicine did not do anything for him.
When it was working, he was sleepy, when it was not working, he was acting as if he were a touch insane. It was frightening to look at him go thru his highs and lows, and the college system did not need to help or understand. He was off his ADD medication by the age of fifteen, and my mom fought with helping him with his school work. As the next few years went by, the indicators of his ADD went away, for the main part, all on their lonesome.
If you or somebody you like is wrestling with it, you must know that it may indeed get less complicated as the years go by.
You can still have some issues, but you must feel better when you leave your teenage years behind.
